Behind every festival stage there is a room nobody photographs. Lagos feat. Paris is putting twenty young women producers in that room before the show.
The first training workshops of the programme are running with Audio Girl Africa. They cover the parts of the job that rarely get taught formally: session management, signal flow, mixing for a live broadcast, and the practical business of getting paid. Alongside them, a studio dedicated to women is opening in Lagos, a permanent space the participants keep after the festival ends.
This is the part of the project that outlives the concert. A stage is one night. A studio is a decade. The festival's aim is not to fly a French lineup into Nigeria for an evening, but to build the connections that keep producing work afterwards, and the most direct version of that is access to a room with a console in it.
The twenty were chosen for what they are already making, not for what they have released. Several will be credited on festival recordings. Others come back for the next edition as assistants, then as engineers.
The workshops run before 11 December 2026. Details of the programme, the partners behind it and how to apply for the next intake will follow on this page.
